It's been rainy in the Rocket City for the past few days, so it was perfect time for some indoor fun at Whitesburg's Family Putt Putt night. Students and their families spent an enjoyable evening strolling the halls and checking out the 14 mini-golf holes that were spread throughout the school. Cheers could be heard throughout as participants sank a particularly tricky putt (or tried and tried again on some of the more difficult holes).
Many students were excited to show off their handiwork as they and their classmates were the designers and engineers of their grade-level holes. Everyone did a fantastic job, but there was plenty of buzz about the awesome robot-themed hole down the 7th grade hallway and the rainbow with a pot of gold (where lucky players who made it in the hole even got to choose a piece of gold to take with them). There were also plenty of traditional-style holes filled with obstacles and tricky hills.
At the end of the evening, families were able to turn in their score cards to vote for their favorite hole. There was also a participant drawing with one lucky family winning a Little Rosie's gift card. Overall the night was a great success, and all who attended enjoyed some quality time together.
