First, THANK YOU to Tony Ceci for the wonderful BBQ! You didn't let the rain stop you from making delicious smoked BBQ and we thank you! Not every school has a professional grill master on staff as both a parent and PTA chairperson. We know how fortunate we are to have you!
This is a dad event at Whitesburg. We love to start the school year with everyone knowing that dad volunteers are welcomed and celebrated. Fathers are so important to a school community and we are grateful that you all showed up to make and serve 300 dinners and you even showed up to help clean up! Thanks to Shane Askew, Bill Bigelow, Brad Hill, Anthony Jackson, Andrew Jennings, Topher Niemann, David Parker, David Thew, and Brad Yeager.
Special hard-working volunteer shout out to Criss Ceci, Beth HIll + Hill girls, Robin Peake, Preeti Francis, and Rhoda Johnson, Brad & Shari Yeager's daughter, Whitesburg Ambassadors, and Grissom's AP Spanish students who helped with translation! You showed up with a smile and an open heart to serve this community. We are grateful!
And as always, thank you to the talented team of teachers, staff, and Mrs. Little, Mrs. Spivey, and Mrs. Coley-Smith. You work tirelessly every day and still when our children run up to hug you, you hug them back. When we as parents run up to complain/ask questions answered a million times, you listen. When the rain pours down your cheeks in the car line, you still open doors for our students with a hearty "GOOD MORNING"! You make our school special. Thank you!
Lastly, and most importantly, Whitesburg parents/grandparents/caregivers, THANK YOU for showing up. For caring enough to ask questions, even if they've been asked a million times. Thank you for griping over your children. Kids should know that someone loves them enough to go to bat for them against anyone. You show your children that their school is important to your family whenever your step foot in our building. Thank you!
Dinner with friends with an open house for dessert. It was a great night!
